233. The Waiting Game

Waiting. We all have to wait for things in life. Some are harder to wait for than other. Right now what am I waiting for you may ask? For my high speed connection to go live. I went out today and purchased the modem and have the service activated in store. Now all we need is for the store to send the activation order to my new internet provider, which is also my cable television provider, so getting me on should be simple. Once the store transfer the order from their database to the cable company's computer.

They say that will be done within 24 hours, so I am waiting. It might go live tonight, but more than likely tomorrow. I'm impatient. I want it now. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve, and I know I won't get much done until the connection goes up. I've been wanting this for years, but it took forever for the apartment building I live in to be wired for it, and then it took even longer than that to talk my family into making the jump. Today, my dad said to me as we walked out of the store, "why didn't we do this sooner?" I just stared at him for a moment, and then I got in the car.

I never made it to my blog yesterday. I was feeling a bit under the weather, and I had a lot on my mind. I've tried to figure out how I'm feeling exactly these days into words, but when I try its difficult. I feel things changing again, and I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm letting the thoughts percolate for a bit, and I'm sure I'll come back later on tonight or tomorrow. I'm just so anxious right now waiting for the high speed to go live. Everything is up and connected. All I need to do is have the company to give me the go ahead, install the cable company software, and I should be good to go.

Before I forget! I have selected a new Blog of the Week! Check out this week's selection on my sidebar. This week we have the blogging headquarters of Hohmann-Becker Production company!

I hope you're all well. I might be back later.

We have an appointment for the tech guy to come unblock my connection tomorrow, so it should be up sometime in the afternoon we're hoping.

Mine took a bit of time to go live, but I hope it happens quickly for you. It's so much better than dial up!

LOVE high speed. Never want to live anywhere without it again!

(but you didn't come back online and tell us what's on your mind...)

Hi Kacey! I ended up keeping it in personal journal. A lot of the thoughts were a bit too personal, but I might share some of them here. I just need to let them percolate a bit more, and I just spent three hours with the tech people on the phone for my high speed, and I still won't have it on til Saturday! Some problem with the signal. I don't see me making an entry today. Three hours of fiddling with wires and talking to six different tech people gave me a headache.
